International Fair

Today my family went to an international fair hosted by the homeschool group. Although I did not research a country and make a display, I did go and visit all of the displays. The homeschoolers had studied Venezuela, Spain, Latvia, the England from King Arthur's day, Greece, Canada, Poland, and many more that I cannot remember right now.

I assisted my siblings find pictures online for their countries. After they printed out the pictures, they scrambled all last night to cook food and finish their displays.

Some of the students gave short speeches about their countries. One set of brothers played a song about Australia with the lyrics "Come visit Australia- you might be accidentally killed!" Their focus was the dangerous animals that reside in Australia. My sister spoke about how the Poles love their food. If you ever want to visit Poland, let the citizens know you are coming because they sometimes serve guests 8-course meals!

Battleship

KODY 105 here.

I am in 12th grade. I have had the unique privilege of homeschooling for all my life! I have never had to learn about all the mumbo-jumbo that municipal schools teach.

I have moved around a lot, so I have been in many homeschool support groups.

Just this past week my homeschool group went on a field trip to visit a historical battleship that served in World War 2! We wandered the ship (over seven decks!) and learned about life onboard a "floating city." The officers and chief petty officers got fancy quarters while the sailors got a small bunk in a large room with many other bunks around. I must wonder if the lights were always off in that bunk room...

There were four huge dining rooms for the sailors! With a complement of over 3,000 sailors, the chefs and cooks worked 24/7 on the food!
